21-logo2North Broward Academy of Excellence is proud to announce that we look forward to our second year of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Grant Program.

The goal of the program is to provide opportunities for our students to participate in out of school time programming that emphasize academically enriching activities that foster academic and social youth development at no additional fee. The program at NBAE will provide a focus on technology through our ISTEM component in which students will learn technology, math and science activities.

Additionally students will participate in college readiness, health and nutrition, and the literary arts. Daily homework help and supplemental instruction will be offered. Activities such as robotics, computers, ethnic art, health and well-being, careers and business will be offered. Partners such as Junior Achievement, Robotics FIRST and the Young at Art will assist in this program. Activities for families will also be provided in technology, parenting, English classes and special education workshops.

The after-school program operates 160 days at five days per week. The program takes place Monday through Friday, from 3:20 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.

Summer ’17 Program

Bears Den will provide a seven week (7) 21st CCLC Summer Camp from June 13 to July 27 for five days a week operating from 8:00am to 5:45pm. This will fill gaps for our parents and provide academic enrichment for the students in the summer.

Here is what you need to know about our summer camp:

What: Providing FREE Summer Camp to any scholars entering grades 3-8 who is currently participating in 21st CCLC or needs to catch up to grade level. Seats are limited.
Breakfast, Lunch and Snack will be provided each day at no charge.

When: Beginning Tuesday, June 13, 2017 and ending July 27, 2017 from 8:00 am – 5:45 pm

How: Complete the registration form and return to the front office by May 5, 2017.

Why: To help our children stay engaged in learning and provide them with healthy and motivating activities for most of the summer. Students who keep learning throughout the summer are more likely to catch up or surpass grade level expectations.

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 3:20-6:20

Early Pick-up Policy: 3 Early Dismissals (pick up prior to 6:20) will count as an absence.
Notice: Day Light Savings Time ends on November 2nd. Please remember that it will be getting darker earlier students walking home should have a flashlight or reflective gear in order to ensure their safety.

Attention Parents: Students must attend regularly in order to remain enrolled in the Bears Den. After 3 absences in one month a student may lose their seat.
